Address bar & search
Search, go to sites, HTTPS-First and the site info button.
Search or go to a site
- Click the address bar, or press Ctrl+L (also Ctrl+K ).
- Type a web address such as
listgoph.com, or any words to search for. - Press Enter. As you type, Aetherium suggests pages from your history and bookmarks, plus search suggestions.
To change the search engine (DuckDuckGo, Google, Bing, Brave, Ecosia and others, or your own), open Preferences › Search Engine.
Secure connections (HTTPS-First)
When you type an address, Aetherium always tries the secure https:// version first, even if you typed http://.
If a site has no secure version, Aetherium loads it over plain http:// once and remembers that site until you close the browser.
Addresses on your own computer or network (for example localhost, *.test, *.local, IP addresses
and single-word names) are left as you typed them.
The site information button
The icon at the left of the address bar shows a lock (Connection is secure) or a warning (Not secure). Click it to:
- see whether what you send to the site is encrypted,
- change this site's Permissions (camera, microphone, location, notifications, pop-ups…) or Reset permissions,
- see its cookies (Manage), open Site settings, or Clear data for this site.
