Developer tools

Dev panel, network log, page audit, responsive preview, screenshots and more.

Besides Chromium's own DevTools (F12, or ⋮ › Developer › Inspect Page), Aetherium adds tools for web developers.

Tools panel

Press Ctrl+Shift+Y or click the toolkit button. It has:

  • Screenshot: Visible area, Full page or Select area (or press Ctrl+Shift+S ). Then Copy, Save PNG, Send to agent or Send to Claude Code.
  • Send to Claude Code: send This page as Markdown or URL + console errors to Claude Code's inbox. Right-click on a page for more (Selected text, Link, Image…). Not available in private tabs.
  • Local dev servers: finds servers running on this computer (localhost) so you can open them in one click. Add your own ports under Extra ports.
  • Share by QR code: shows a QR code of the page to open it on your phone. Tick Use this PC's network address (for your phone) for a local dev server. The code is made on your computer; nothing is sent anywhere.

Developer panel

Press Ctrl+Shift+U . A panel docks at the bottom with three tabs:

TabWhat it does
NetworkTurn on Capture and reload the page to record its requests. Filter by URL or type, show Errors only, Preserve log across pages, and Copy as cURL (no cookies).
AuditRun audit checks image alt text, link and button names, form labels, headings, contrast, title and meta tags, console errors, failed requests and mixed content. Show outlines the problem on the page.
ResponsivePreview the page at Phone 390×844, Tablet 820×1180, Laptop 1366×768 or your own size, and Rotate. The user agent is not changed.

Ctrl+Shift+L switches the phone preview on and off directly.

More

  • Ctrl+U view page source; Ctrl+F5 hard reload; ⋮ › Developer › Empty this site's cache and hard reload.
  • Let VS Code, Claude Code or Cursor drive the browser: see AI agent › Connect.
  • Automated tests: Preferences › Playwright and test tools lets Playwright or Puppeteer connect at http://127.0.0.1:9222 after a restart. Any program on your computer can then use your tabs and logins, so turn it off when you are done.
  • Build extensions: see Chrome extensions › developer mode.
